Life in Bali has been pretty chill-axed. We aren’t frantically rushing from one place to another as we normally do thanks to our longer stay. Usually, we have to plan to fit our limited schedule in that country. Some might argue that slow travel can get boring but that rarely is the case. Unless of course, all you’re doing is visiting schools.
Did I mention we were visiting schools? For all you people who have never done it before, in reality, it is an interesting and rewarding task. I’m starting to think of myself as a School-Visiting-Pro. Trust me, it’s not rocket science, even for me. We were mainly looking for local international schools when we finished our travels and moved to Bali (Yes, we are moving to Bali after this).
There are many different types of schools here in Bali. Most of them are pretty chill and have a sense of community, while others are more focused on academics. Either option was fine for us but it came down to what you want to accomplish during school.
Here are some pro tips from me when visiting a school. Number one, they will be judging your every move. Don’t take this personally but when a teacher asks you (as in the kid) directly, they usually aren’t doing it just out of politeness. They will be watching how you respond to them, which may sound harsh but that’s just the way things are. So don’t talk to them like you would talk to your friends, because “bro” and “fire” will not impress the teacher. And number two is your body language. You have to look interested and alert every second you breathe in that school. Sound like I’m exaggerating? I’m not (Well, maybe just a little). Other than that, you are now a pro-school-visitor just like me.
I’ve been a little distracted about schools today, Here is a summary of every other detail I missed: We moved from Senur to Canggu, We met up with another homeschooler, we did one thing, and we did another thing.
