So We’re in Thailand, the first country on this world trip. So far, we’ve been to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Krabby. My goal for this blog is to hopefully I will include everything we have done so far in this one blog, which, as you can guess, is the first one of this trip. So stick around, because we have some pretty exciting things planned!
We first arrived in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Although this city has many engaging things to do, we had originally come here to get our required vaccines for the trip. Luckily for me, I hate getting vaccinated. Furthermore, we were going to take 4 shots in Bangkok, all on the same day. So it is clear to say I wasn’t very excited for the upcoming days. On a side note, I didn’t die as I thought I would, which is a plus. In Bangkok, we mainly looked at some malls (they are everywhere in this country) and more importantly, explored the food life. We even got to have some Michelin street food, which turned out to be a bit of a letdown. Don’t get me wrong, they were delicious, but at the same time, they were just dough balls that even I could have made. Apart from that, Thai food was delicious. One of my favourite dishes was from a local food stall just outside where we were staying. The rich flavors and the simplicity of the dish struck gold in my heart.
After Bangkok, we flew to Chiang Mai. Here, we focused on looking deeper into the culture and religion. We went to markets and explored our neighbourhood, but what caught my attention the most were the temples. Having just come from Japan, I was used to the zen, simple design of the temples. however, in this country which worshipped the same religion, the temples were ornately adorned with gold and gems. Even with the same religion, it was engrossing to see how the people treated it. These were probally the most ornate structures I had ever seen, and it was clear to me how much these people respected their gods.
I was excited to nitice these cultrual differences so early on and it made me excited for what was to come, so stick around, because next blog I will write about what else we did in Thailand. Until then, Goodbye!
